ELECTRICAL CARDIOVERSION

What is an Electrical Cardioversion?
An electrical cardioversion, also called a DCCV (direct-current cardioversion), is an outpatient procedure that uses electric shocks to treat a fast or irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia). In this procedure, your doctor will put you to sleep and then give your heart low-energy shocks to restore normal heartbeat.
Cardioversion can also be used to treat SVT (Supraventicular Tachycardia).
